Cut Your Building Costs

In general, building your new home, factory, shed or other structure using steel frame will be less expensive than using traditional timber framing. This is due to a number of factors:

  • Steel framing is quicker to manufacture and quicker to assemble than traditional timber frame methods, so you save by requiring less staff or site workers.
  • There is far less wasted material - only 2% wastage, compared with up to 20% wastage with timber frame houses.
  • Less manpower is required to move and erect the lightweight steel frame panels.
  • Steel frames are not affected by water, hence there are no rain delays as you often have waiting for timber to dry.
  • The price of traditional timber framing has been erratic and increasing at a faster rate than inflation, whilst steel prices have only experienced small annual adjustments.

All of these positive factors help reduce your overall construction cost, resulting in savings that can be used elsewhere on the project, or to generate higher profits in the case of trade building contractors.
